Your Expedition Coordinator

For many potential trip leaders the first thought when contemplating taking a group of young people to Africa is safety. COLT and Edutours Africa prioritise safety first and foremost and provide the following reassurances:

  • COLT’s partners, Edutours Africa have run safe and successful overland expeditions for over 30 years
  • Every school or adult group who have travelled with COLT have returned to Africa with COLT
  • Edutours Africa are based in Zimbabwe and have offices in Harare, Cape Town and Nairobi. They are perfectly placed to assess the latest political, economic and social developments in the countries they travel in their potential impact on safe travel
  • COLT and Edutours Africa risk assess all elements of any given itinerary. These risk assessments can be provided to assist the trip leader with theirs
  • The overland truck is regularly maintained and carries the necessary tools for the vast majority on the road repairs should it be necessary
  • The crew are experienced African guides who have all trained specifically to handle all overlanding scenarios
  • All third party operators, are carefully scrutinized and only used if they have an impeccable safety record

Your Expedition Coordinator

As teachers COLT provides appropriate advice on a variety of important health matters. These include:

  • Appropriate immunisations via your GP or local NHS clinic
  • Malarial regions and advice on prophylactics
  • Advice on appropriate clothing, sun creams and sun block
  • All expeditions include all meals according a balanced and healthy food plan, catering for all needs including vegetarians, diabetics and food intolerances
